WESTSPLAINING: how ignorant westerners condescendingly explain both current affairs and the history of central and eastern Europe from a purely western perspective, while generally demonstrating their complete lack of understanding and total disdain for the experience of the people in the region (who tend to be infintely more knowledgeable about what’s going on in their own countries at present and what happened in the past)….
A typical example would be people from western countries (who never experienced the joy of living under Russian or Soviet occupation) westsplaining to those “over emotional” eastern Europeans about how it really wasn’t that bad, while lecturing them about Russia’s “legitimate security concerns"….
